Family ClassFAMILY CLASS (Pre-EMA:Ages 6-36 months)Footprint

If your child is between 6 to 36 months you'll want to join one of our toddler-parent participation classes. These classes are a wonderful opportunity for a special time of bonding with your child in a warm, encouraging environment.

In addition to singing, movement and rhythm games, classes include symphonic and ethnic instrument exploration in which parents and children have the opportunity to handle and play real instruments and learn about notes in a fun 30-minute format.  Family classes are limited to 6 children.  Family Jr. Class

Family Class Jr. is limited to the youngest students (birth through 2.5 yrs) & their caregivers. This class focuses on similar developmentally appropriate activities as the wider age range of the regular Family Class, but at a gentler pace... as children are learning to respond to what is often their very first class.

EMA ClassFootprint #2EARLY MUSIC AWARENESSTM: E.M.A., our trademark class! (Level I: Ages 3-5 & 4-6)

Your young child (3 to 7 years) will gain a sense of independence by being a part of a small group of children (no more than 8 to a class) where she will be able to receive personal attention and have her individuality acknowledged and honored. In addition children are prepared for future instrumental instruction by learning to read music and try potential instruments in an active, fun and exciting environment. Learn more about EMA TM

Even as young as three years old, your child will be proud of her ability to identify notes and their values. And she will be excited to share with you the handouts she'll receive with every lesson.

EMA II Class

FootprintEMA II (Ages 5.5-7)

Available as an ongoing class, the next step for growing students may be EMA II. In this class, the theory and instrument exploration sections of EMA are combined in each class to allow students ages 5.5-7 to focus on specific instruments.  In 3-4 week segments, they will learn to play actual songs on keyboard, flutophone, deskbells, ukulele and/or glockenspiel as they continue to learn to read music.

In addition they explore instruments like violin, guitar, trumpet and drums that they might choose to play someday.  Carried over from EMA I, plenty of rhythm games, movement and singing activities keep the class moving in this older-child version of Early Music Awareness.

Instrument Prep ClassFootprint #2INSTRUMENT PREP (Ages 6-8)

Students 6-8 years may join a 15-week session that is divided into two sections:  The first 7-8 weeks they will enjoy a broad range of music instruction similar to Early Music Awareness but with a focus on note-reading and experiencing the 6-10 instruments that are size appropriate for them:

The final 6-7 weeks, students apply their growing note-reading skills with using individual keyboards provided.  In this section, students will receive an overview of the geography, technique and others skills needed to play simple songs on the piano or keyboard (see below) a great preparation for playing any other instrument.

Upon completion of this class, most students will be ready to move forward to learn the instrument they have chosen in a private lesson setting.

Private LessonFootprintPRIVATE LESSONS (Whenever they are ready)

After moving through this fun, custom-designed learning path in which kids explore, enjoy, survey, choose and get passionate about his or her perfect instrument, private lessons are the best next step. This one-on-one experience ensures the best success because each child learns differently and the lesson can be customized to his or her own learning.

Private lessons are available on almost every instrument and are best enjoyed when students function developmentally like a child 6 years or older (regardless of their actual age). If your child is under 7, an assessment will be a big help before moving forward. In a special time with you and your child, an Educational Specialist trained to help determine your child's developmental age (and readiness) in three areas: Academic, Social & Physical.

SPECIAL PACKAGES: Beginning with weekly 30-minute, one-on-one lessons, students are also eligible for special packages that add group vocal, dance or instrumental classes for as little as $45.00 per month to maintain the enjoyment and synergy of learning with others.

Specialized classes include Music Adventures (for kids with Special Needs), Customized EMA Options, Instrument Survey for ages 8+, Group Instrumental Ensembles & More
