Abigail, MA, MT-BC, has stories that encircle the arts, well being, and loving God and people. As a child she found such a love for music that she branched out from many years of learning piano to also learn violin, cello, recorder and drums--and later guitar and ukulele.
With a heart for people, she studied Psychology with a minor in Piano Performance at BIOLA University. She went on to do her graduate work at the University of Roehampton in London where she received her Master's Degree in Music Therapy. During her college years, Abigail added guitar and ukulele to her repertoire of instruments. This has allowed her to make more effective connections with her clients. She holds MT-BC national board certifications in Music Therapy for both UK and US. She has extremely wide experience in providing music therapy, considering it an honor to have worked with children with autism and cerebral palsy, the elderly with dementia, as well as adults with psychoses and learning disabilities.
Her research has been published in music therapy journals in the US, UK, and Taiwan. Her hobbies include reading, sky gazing, and visiting art galleries. In her varied work, Abigail recounts "I have witnessed many amazing moments for which I could not have prepared, that came about simply when I asked God for help." She credits her faith in God for her success and her love for helping others.
Many times, fun in practice inspires the skill, and many times, the skill inspires the fun. Abigail considers a successful lesson one that is enjoyed, but mainly, one in which the student has a takeaway to build upon on his or her own.
