Now a student at The University of Calfornia (Santa Barbara), Nathanael's musical journey began at the age of 5. His practice began to pay off after being accepted into the San Jose Youth Chamber Orchestra in fifth grade. During his time there he participated in the Valley Medical Orchestra, a group that performed at multiple hospitals for patients undergoing music therapy. He joined The Music Place at age 16 as an apprentice teacher and continues his violin study under Mr. Byung Woo Kim.
Before college, Nathanael performed as the concertmaster of the Chamber Strings Orchestra for two years, graduating and winning the Director's Award. During his freshman year of high school, he participated in the Mission Chamber Orchestra series of Rising Stars. Currently he plays in the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra as a first violinist.
HIs hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, swimming, biking and just being outdoors in general.
Nathanael's primary focus as a teacher is to increase the students ability to play the violin and become a better overall musician. As a teacher, he believes that it is his responsibility to push the student to the next level, allowing the students to be the best that they can be. Nathanael uses the Suzuki method with additional emphasis on sight reading.
