While born and raised in the Bay Area, Krystal gained years of experience working as a caregiver for both children and the elderly, including those who are terminally ill. It was during her journey as a caregiver that Krystal learned about Music Therapy and felt God's calling to the field. She loves how music therapy allows her the opportunity to combine her gifts of music and compassion to care for others.
Krystal began her official studies in music therapy in 2014 while continuing to work along side and assist music therapists in the geriatric setting. As she continued her internship with children and young adults at The Music Place, Krystal is now in the final stage of completing her BA in Music Therapy.

During this time of study, Krystal is discovering that she enjoys the family and community aspects of Music Therapy. No matter the abilities and disabilities one has, Krystal enjoys helping each clients connect to themselves and others by exploring the benefits, and the magical “moment of relief” music often brings.
Although Krystal’s primary instrument is her voice, she also plays guitar, piano, basic percussion, and is learning how to play the ukulele.

On a more personal note, when not in school, Krystal enjoys helping lead worship at her church, singing in a choir or ensemble, joining Meetup
groups, and attending or leading drum circles.
