Patrick (Pat), MA, MT-BC, found his passion for music as a child and as a result, he pursued learning experiences with multiple instruments. His desire to use music to serve the community grew as he pursued his music education. Soon, not unlike many young teens, Patrick started out with a strong desire to be in a band. He began learning anything he could play in a rock band, and eventually he became proficient in guitar, drums and electric bass.  Since electric bass easily translates to string bass, he took his violin learning experience and added string bass to his repertoire and building on that, he earned a BA in music performance.

While in college, Parick began working in a care center for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As he worked as both an activities director and a direct support professional, he began to notice how positively clients responded to musical activities. Ultimately music therapy was a natural choice that married his desire to serve the community with his musical training.  This eventually led him to University of Iowa where completed his MA in music therapy .

In addition to adults, Patrick has worked with children on the autism spectrum since 2022 when he served as music director at Camp Krem near Yosemite. The camp is designed to provide fun filled activities for children with intellectual and developmental delays- the majority of whom are on the autism spectrum. Also during his graduate school experience, Patrick served at Balance Autism working exclusively with children on the spectrum as a behavioral technician.
