Ha began studying piano at the age of 3 years old.  Because of the way it was taught,  she did not really enjoy learning piano for several more years, but she persevered until it she fell in love with piano. At a fairly early age, it became clear to Ha and her family that this music would be the defining direction of her life. Although she graduated with a degree in Piano Performance and plays with great artistry and technique,  Ha much prefers teaching over performing.

She moved to San Jose from Wisconsin where she completed her degree because of the weather and close friends. (who wouldn't?) Having taught children as young as four and five years old before coming to The Music Place, Ha was excited to learn how to teach our signature Early Music Awareness curriculum and has become a wonderfully sweet AND playful teacher for even the very youngest kids.

Teaching Style

Ha's teaching style is relaxed and fun, and she delights in finding just the right approach to inspire each unique student. Although she is most comfortable teaching classical music,  Ha is skllled in improvisation and able to encourage students with a wide range of inspiring repertoire. Hear Ha perform Liszt's "Un Sospiro" .
