Hannah is both sweet and strong. A graduate of William Jessup University in Rocklin, she holds a bachelor's degree in music with a piano emphasis. In addition to her serious study of piano, Hannah also loves to sing and was delighted to perform in the University's Masterwork's Chorale, performing a wide variety of music ranging from classical choral works to traditional hymns and contemporary music. With skills in both piano and voice, a love for teaching children, strong faith and a gentle spirit, Hannah brings a special kindness to her students and is a great addition to The Music Place faculty.

Before moving to the South Bay, Hannah taught piano students ages 5 & up at a local music school in the Sacramento area, and when asked about her experience with very young students as she was first learning to teach, she had this to say:

"I have learned to take my time more when teaching and repeating concepts that [she] may not remember from our last lesson together. I have found that since I know a lot about music it can be easy for me to overload my students with information- this student and the other ones, have helped me dial back my approach, go slower when teaching new concepts and consistently review with them."

Hannah is a compassionate young woman who enjoys solving problems and helping others solve them too. This carries through in her approach to teaching, as she loves to lead her students to solve the learning challenges they face in a way that helps them feel great about themselves. Hannah's creativity, compassion and love for problem solving has also helped her to find ways to be effective in working with those who have attention deficits and other similar issues.

When asked what she loves to do in her (rare) spare time, she says hiking, cooking, playing games, serving in her local church and listening to hymns and classical music.

Teaching Style

She loves teaching to the learning style of each child in order to help them succeed, and to their specific interests in styles of music in order to help them enjoy it.
