Rebeca is conservatory trained in music education and holds a Master's degree in Vocal Performance.  A native of Venezuela, she and her husband, Eleazar, are well-loved musicians who have performed in churches and concert venues across the United States and in several South American countries. Rebeca is comfortable with all styles of music, often using contemporary or movie favorites to inspire young singers. She primarily teaches voice, piano, and beginning violin using the Suzuki Method. She has been on The Music Place faculty since 1997, and has been teaching since the 1970's. Rebeca speaks English and Spanish and enjoys sewing, cooking, and keeping up with her three grown children.

Teaching Style

Rebeca especially loves teaching the youngest students! She brings a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and focus to her classes in her unique "firm but fun" style. She genuinely cares for each of her students and easily adapts to any personality type or special needs.

"Mrs. Rebecca is such an amazing teacher! She always has new and effective techniques and exercises for me to try out and improve that help in ways I would never imagine. I only recently started learning singing from her, which I have thoroughly enjoyed, but I have met her at all the recitals, and she always gives the warmest hugs and knows everyone's names even if they are not her students. She has such an amazing voice, which always drives me to keep practicing and really makes me look forward to the next lesson." ~ Isha Savant
