We are excited to finally offer a home studio in the East Bay with a great teacher like Winnie! Winnie has a wonderfully appointed home studio in the southern part of Fremont, (just 10 minutes from Milpitas). In it she teaches piano and also offers private adaptive EMA. She is a seasoned piano instructor who has studied piano for over 12 years during which time she completed the highest levels of ABRSM performance repertoire and adjudication. She also has experience teaching those who have special needs.

She fondly recalls that even during her high school years she enjoyed teaching friends and family who noticed her skills. Over the years that followed, Winnie continued to grow her piano experience and sight reading skills by serving as an accompanist for both church and school choirs. Later, after finishing college and getting married, she enoyed a successful career as a graphic artist, during which time she taught her own children (now grown) and honed her skills by teaching the children of friends and family.

Then, as the post pandemic culture changed the landscape of her work in graphic arts and she felt pressure to compromise her deeply held beliefs, Winnie began to consider a more serious venture into the arena of teaching music. She noted that she was really enjoying teaching children of all abilities and disabilties and then found The Music Place. This was the perfect answer to her search for a school that would not only support her Christian values, but also her desire for more professional development in the area of music education.

In 2024, The Music Place welcomed Winnie's teachability and was happy to also train her to teach the signature curriculum for the very youngest learners, Early Music Awareness (EMA). Studying EMA under the tutelage of veteran EMA teacher Valery Onishi, she has found great delight in learning new and creative ways to teach younger students.

Personally, Winnie enjoys cooking, running, hiking, spending time with her family, friends and her little terrier/poodle, Dipper.
